Festival guide, 2027

The best EDM festivals in Mexico in 2027

The main electronic music festivals in Mexico compared by place and setting, from jungle nights in Tulum to a racetrack in Mexico City, with the 2027 dates that are confirmed and the ones that are not.

A list meant for choosing.

Most of Mexico's electronic festival calendar falls in winter. Tulum fills up over New Year, when Zamna's season runs from 31 December 2026 to 10 January 2027 and Day Zero takes one night in the jungle on 9 January. In February, Bahidorá camps by a river in Morelos and EDC fills a racetrack in Mexico City. This page compares the EDM festivals Mexico holds between November and February by place and setting, and shows which 2027 dates are confirmed.

How this list was chosen.

A festival is on this list when these three things are true:

  • Electronic music is the core of the programme, or of one of its main stages.
  • It takes place in Mexico, has run recently, and has either published its next edition or given no sign of stopping.
  • It offers a place or a kind of night the others on the list do not.

Every date comes from the festival's own site. Where a festival has not yet announced 2027, the table gives its 2026 date as a guide.

The Tulum season and the Mexico City dates do not clash. Day Zero falls on 9 January, inside Zamna's season, and Bahidorá ends five days before EDC begins.

Which Tulum EDM festival is worth the trip?

Tulum, on the Caribbean coast of Quintana Roo, has two big names over New Year: Zamna, a run of separate nights at one site, and Day Zero, a single night. Both book house and techno more than big-room EDM.

Zamna Tulum

Zamna holds its shows at Cenote Zamna, a jungle site at kilometre 200 of Highway 307, near Tulum. The first gathering was in 2017, and the 2027 season marks its tenth year, from 31 December 2026 to 10 January 2027. The calendar has six nights in that span, each a separate ticket for ages 18 and over: Renaissance on New Year's Eve, Amnesia's 50th anniversary tour on 2 January, Anyma presents ÆDEN on 4 January, Black Coffee on 6 January, Adriatique on 8 January and Adam Port on 10 January.

A Multipass covers three nights, at USD 375 for general admission or USD 575 for VIP. Zamna also holds events in other countries, among them Egypt, Peru, Colombia and Canada.

Day Zero, Tulum

Day Zero is Damian Lazarus's one-night EDM festival Tulum has hosted since 2012, when the first edition was timed to the end of the Mayan calendar. It runs from dusk to sunrise in the jungle outside the town. The 2027 edition, called Begin Again, is on 9 January, according to the festival's own site, with &ME, Vintage Culture, Tiga, LP Giobbi and RPR Soundsystem among the names. A separate stage, El Teatro, is given over to Mexican artists.

Which are the best EDM festivals in Mexico City?

Mexico City has the largest festival on this list and the one most given to experimental music. For the clubs that run the rest of the year, see the best clubs in Mexico City.

EDC, Mexico City

EDC is the EDM festival Mexico City holds on a racetrack every year, usually in late February. Insomniac has run it at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez since 2014, and the 2027 edition is on 19 to 21 February. The EDC Las Vegas guide covers it in its own section.

Time Warp, Mexico City

Time Warp, the German techno festival from Mannheim, holds its first Mexico City edition at Expo Santa Fe on 20 and 21 November 2026. The 2027 date has not been announced. See the Time Warp guide.

MUTEK MX

MUTEK MX is the Mexico City branch of the festival of electronic music and digital art that began in Montreal. Its 22nd edition closes on 6 to 8 November 2026, with a Nocturne night on 6 November and two days of smaller events at venues around the city. The 2027 dates have not been announced.

The programme leans to live audiovisual work. The Nocturne bill for 2026 includes Lorenzo Senni, Kelly Moran and Dasha Rush, and in 2016 its A/VISION programme was staged at the Teatro de la Ciudad Esperanza Iris, as in the photograph above.

Which other EDM festivals in Mexico are worth the trip?

One more festival, outside both Tulum and the capital, passes the tests above.

Bahidorá, Las Estacas

Bahidorá is held at Las Estacas, a nature park with a spring-fed river in Morelos, south of Mexico City. It began there in 2013, and its 15th edition is on 12 to 14 February 2027, for ages 18 and over, with camping on site. Of its four stages, El Cubo is the dance floor for house and techno DJs. The others carry bands, Latin cumbia and urbano, and daytime vinyl selectors, so the bill is wider than the other festivals here.

Not on this list, and why.

These are festivals people ask about that fall outside the tests above.

  • The BPM Festival. BPM began in Playa del Carmen in 2008. In January 2017 a shooting at its closing party killed five people. It moved to Costa Rica, where its own site lists the latest edition in January 2025, and it lists no Mexico edition.
  • Afterlife Tulum. Afterlife's own Tulum page still lists its last nights at Cenote Zamna, on 4 and 6 January 2025. No 2027 Afterlife night is on Zamna's calendar.

How to choose.

Start with the month. Over New Year, go to Tulum: Zamna if you want several nights with different headliners, Day Zero if you want one long night. In February, choose EDC in Mexico City for the biggest stages, or Bahidorá for three days of camping by a river with house and techno on one stage. Each Mexico EDM festival on this list falls between November and February, so a single winter trip can take in two of them.

Then check the calendar. Two of the dates above, Time Warp and MUTEK MX, have not been published for 2027. Zamna's season starts on New Year's Eve, less than two months away, and its Multipass was on its last release in early November. Confirm with the festival before you book travel.
